The Circle Yacht Club was founded in early 1975 by three men all from the Dorchester Y.C. They were Robert F. Cunningham who was the first Commodore, Geroge E. Holland the second Commodore and John J. Mallard. The Charter was obtained March 25,1975. The Club's first address was at Neponset Circle Quincy, (hence the name Circle), then later in 1977 changed to present mailing address of the Secretary, 173 Glenellen Road, West Roxbury Mass. 02132-5706. In 1976,77 and 78 we had over 300 members which leveled off to about 200 for many years and now, we presently have a low of 100 members. The primary objective of the Club is to encourage Yachting, both the actual and social facets, and good fellowship. We shall also endevor to teach our youth to emulate and perpetuate this objective.
